Skill: Game knowledge and strategy
Purpose: Create Windows of Opportunity in your offensive
possessions
1) Take
immediate advantage of your opponent's defensive mistakes
- Read and React immediately to a defensive mistake (don't hesitate)
- Know if the forecheck should be aggressive or passive
- Create numbers and support as quickly as possible
2) Be
a threat with or without the puck
- Look and Act like a shooter with the puck
- Always be ready to receive the puck (stick position and body position)
- Be easy to read (your path or next move should be easy to see by team mates)
- Create triangles in your support or attacks (big or small)
- Support from all sides (weak/strong and attack/regroup)
3) Create
Numbers as quick as you can
- Outnumber your opponent in every situation "Never fight a fair fight"
- Odd-man Rushes rule the game
- Read where the play is or where it will be and React with and without the puck
- Choose Time of Possession (regroup) over a Sloppy Aggressive Attack (turnover)
